Camping Beds?
Ive got some fabrics. Description says - used for making camping beds.

Build menu, camping bed - requires sleeping bag.

I havent played in awhile but I remember making camp beds with just fabrics. So how do I make a camping bed now? Or is this a bug?

If I have a camping bed as a basic crafting item, and It requires a sleeping bag to make one, how then do I make a sleeping bag? Because there is no build menu item for it.

I can already make a camping bed, its just that the ingredients are messed up.

beds have more items required to make them now.
construction materials and fabrics are required.

camp beds you can buy at traders. and eventually make your own. and they require 8 fabric in a medical crafting station..

Make camping beds in a medical station? Thats makes no sense. Look, i used to be able to make a camping bed(the one you are able to make as a total noob) for simply 2 fabrics and place it anywhere in the world outside of building zones. The description of the fabric even says, used for making camping beds.

There are no camping beds(or sleeping bags) for sale at any trader in the town I started in. But there are fabrics!

Clearly this is an oversight by the devs.

Ok what everyone is leaving out is that they changed it, you can no longer just toss down a camp bed they dont exist, now it is a sleeping bag. That you have to craft or buy and carry with you while traveling, it is kind of a pain but managable since they stack.
Sleeping bags do exist for sale in various shops, I cannot tell ya witch shops as I didnt really pay attention as to wich ones but many of them do have em.

sleeping bags can be found/looted/bought at. ( from the FCS )
Adventurer shop
Bandit good loot
Medical and Travel supplies
Traveling merchants.
safehouse supplies

to craft a sleeping bag, you need 8 fabric in the medical station and the knowledge of it, which should be known by default.

the 800 fabric displayed in the screenshot is explained like this
1 fabric means 100 in the FCS so that you can make/adjust the requirements to make something in any 1% of a fraction.

There is some confusing information in thsi thread.

The description of camp beds is correct: camp bed now require sleeping bags to build.

Sleeping bags can be crafted from fabric and bought in shops. (unlike someone said: you can not buy nor craft camp beds)

well apparently camp beds are crafted using a sleeping bag, which I have not found any yet. Been to a few towns, and traveling mercants. It just doesnt eally make much sense why camp beds have becomes so much work to get. I mean, I have traveled really far from whee I started without a place to rest and not found a sleeping bag.

2 fabrics for a simple bedroll(camp bed) makes sense. I dont know why it was changed.

The switch to sleeping bags along with the dismantling refund, makes it harder to initially acquire the beds, but once you get one you can simply keep it with you always. Set it down to sleep, pick it back up and go when you're done.

In my opinion it makes a whole lot more sense to me than actually crafting a bed out of fabrics every time. ;)

I see, so the camp bed can now be picked up. Being able to pick it up makes sense, having it hard to get does not.

It's available at pretty much any travel shop outside of the Holy Nation and United Cities. And I'm relatively certain the only reason it's not available from them is because they use a different vendor list than the others, and the devs missed that one when adding the sleeping bag.

It's literally the only travel shop vendor list missing them as far as I can tell. And isn't named anything that would indicate at a glance that it is for a travel shop, so would also be easy to overlook.

All of the bars at waystations sell them.

It also solved the dismantling problem you had before. It use dto be you only recovered a partial amount of the materials used to make a camping bed, which kinda made no sense if you think of that in bedroll/sleeping bags terms.

The tech requirement is because the machine is needed to make one.

So you cant make one with a needle and thread? You do realize that bedrolls existed long before machines did.... So no, it doesnt make any sense.

I agree they are too difficult to come by for most starts, which are either in the HN territory or close, mine always are because it's the safest place to be as a new player, you can punch them for toughness and prison time to practice picking locks, you can mine safely outside of town. Bonedogs usually close by to lure to the guards for meat. Just easier in a not so easy scenaro...

Stack is my favorite HN town to have a new start. If they were sold in HN cities, I'd find it much more user friendly. I have np with them costing a sleeping bag, but either let us craft them easier or make them more available please. I can see fabrics making a sleeping bag, or animal skins, that's another good alternative we could get from bone dogs early game.

Sleeping bags are a recent invention, before that we had bedrolls. a thick blanket pad and a another one for cover.

sleeping bags in game are like the 2nd easiest item to get. besides iron and copper.
if you are not seeing them in your game then it's a bug with the venders.

try importing into a new game to refresh the vendors.

and you can get one with a cover. they added to the same areas. and i use this one.
