Wind
How does wind work in this game ? high altitude mean more and stronger wind ? and what is the prospect skill ?

Wind is biome related. Vain doesn't have much wind, but the Border Zone do, for example.
Prospect allow you to see the resources of the area you are in (water, fertility, ore and wind). It's used to build an outpost.
prospecting also uses your science skill so if it's low you will get bad numbers.
but you can bypass this with the exploit of simply bringing out the item you wish to build as it will always tell you the true percentage before you place it.
so its kinda pointless mostly.

so is that what easy prospecting in the import options means? so that even with low skill you get the right numbers?

It's based on the weather in the biome, and usually varies greatly. The Dev's are also often tweaking weather, so you often end up with huge changes because of that.

Use a mix of them Big and Small for max power. What I do for my bases and it help offset when winds are to slow or to fast.

Wind is determiend by the biomes settings in the FCS. As for outpost locations your best bet is to go looking and find something that you like.

In my old outpost, last year, there were 2 seperate winds systems. Which was quite handy since if one stopped blowing the other might still be going. It was located right on the edge of the fog, so maybe it was a 2 biomes thing?

Im pretty sure that biome borders are fine lines with no overlap. That area is right on one of thoes lines so you would of had to have turbines on both sides to benifit from both biome wind patterns. I belive Orkans Gulf is an intermittent peak 1.2 while The Fog Islands is a consistant .3
