SOLVED: Loading Main Menu is stuck on the screen, can navigate menu blindly, levels are locked when theyre not supposed to be.
I've been trying to get this game for a while now and i've already done all the basic troubleshooting steps. run as administrator, reinstall c++ packages, verified cache, uninstalled and reinstalled both regular and experimental versions, reinstalled steam, updated windows, etc

the game loads up normally until i get to the "loading main menu" screen where it doesnt go any further but i can hear menu responding to my button presses. I tried to start the story mode blindly and got an error message saying "LEVEL LOCKED This level should'nt be locked so something went wrong"

Trying this in vr i can see the menu but there are no submenus for example ill click options and it will show the little black triangle next to it to show its selected but thats it. i was wondering if the issue had to do with the headset but theres no changes after uninstalling steamvr.

i have a, i7-6700k, gtx 980ti, and an asus maximus 8 hero motherboard. Steam is installed on the C: drive but Distance as well as the rest of my games are stored on the D: drive.

This is the output file

This might actually have happened by running Distance as administrator, because it then might create the files with these wrong permissions (I'm not really sure how windows handles these).

i saw that too but dismissed it after i checked those files and saw that i was listed as having full control in the security settings. I tried uninstalling again and then manually deleting the distance folder in "documents/my games" and it works now. Thanks, i wouldn't tried that without your comment, now im back playing this game.
