That said, many people do expect (and compare) bullet heavens to be around Vampire Survivors levels of cheap, so I can understand why you would want to keep the initial price low so as to not discourage customers.
You can always bundle a bunch of new stuff and sell it as DLC or an expansion if it takes off and it looks to have all the required ingredients to do just that.
Seconding this. Bought "coffee and pizza" DLC for a few games in the past simply because I felt like the team deserved it.
Worst case nobody buys it and you lose nothing but a few minutes implementing another buy button, lol.
Donations to devs are better done through an out of Steam service with less than the 30% or so in fees that Steam charges.
Dunno, having a DLC that is just "nothing" can make a game look bad. Everything you sell being value-for-money is better for user trust.
I'd rather have DLC that straight up says "no content, just float us a tenner for a cup of coffee and a sammich" than the ridiculous cosmetic MTX some games peddle.
As long as the DLC is completely upfront about not having any content and being a straight up donation for a job well done, I don't see how it could undermine user trust in any way, unless you want to construe the presence of the button itself as e-begging.
Just my opinion though, maybe I'm just way off base on the issue.
I like the idea of the poster above though: I might just buy a couple copies for friends that enjoy surviving the vampires if I have a lot of fun with this.
Same effect, but more people get to enjoy. Seems like a great call, actually.
They just released the game in EA, adding cosmetic DLC doesn't sound like the best first move.
