Kairo
Oculus Rift DK2-Support
Hi!

Please could you add Oculus Rift DK2 support to your amazing game? I didn't play it yet because I was waiting for the DK2 to arrive :-)

Love your work Perrin. You could also experiment with head controlled turning (when you look far enough to the side the player starts turning), I've heard of other devs who said the achieved good results like that. Then it could just be translation movemnt with a controller which shouldn't be so uncomfortable.

That said however I'm not really happy anymore with that method of playing Kairo. Now that VR is out it's become clear moving a character around on a pad (outside of a cockpit) is uncomfortable for a lot of people, myself included. Hence why we're seeing so many games using teleporting mechanics.

Have you considered to try out some trick like Windlands did with its "comfort cage"? It looks horrible in mirror mode and on screenshots, but works wonders when you actually play it using a HMD. (At least for people I let it try at my placeand me)

I'm happy to experiment with other options but my top two priorities at the moment are to get the existing method running with the two consumer headsets which as I say hopefully can do this week. After that I really want to try teleport controlled by motion controllers live Vive and the eventual Rift Touch. After that I will see what else I can do that might help. Definitely realised Kairo isn't as ideal for VR as I once thought but I'd like to do my best to make it a good experience.

My *hope* and I'm not promising anything is to work on a new Kairo designed from the ground up for room scale VR.
Awesome, I purchased the game hoping for VR support and have my Vive now. If you need a play tester let me know.
A game like Kairo built for VR is pretty much my dream. I love the atmosphere of Kairo and being fully immersed in it would be amazing.

It'd be cool to try the existing game even with the dizzy walking. Let me know if you need a Vive tester.
Just chiming in with another wish for broader support (I personally have a Vive among others, but no Oculus). I really appreciate the effort so far. :) Holding off a bit on starting this game because I'd love to see it in VR. About movement, I also have less trouble with "grab the world" movement like in Sweet Escape than gamepad sliding, though it's clear there isn't really a one option that fits all; teleportation seems closest as far as not making people sick, but may still disorient (a notable issue in Cloudlands) and can be immersion breaking.

Any progress with Oculus 1.4x or SteamVR (Vive) implementation? TIA!
Just checking in - any luck with VR support? I have a Vive, getting the Asus headset, and I have a Virtuix Omni. I can help integrating any of those :)
I want to chime in some encouragement. I recently acquired an Oculus Rift S, really enjoyed Kairo on a regular screen, and was taken aback by "Oculus Mode" just being a split screen that doesn't show up on the goggles. I'd even pay money for a VR update.
