same here. not sure who to contact for any support. steam's support page sends me to Gone Home's developer troubleshoot website, which is no help at all. I'm just looking to contact someone from steam for some possible help.

Hi all,

Can you try running the 32-bit executable found within the game's directory and see if that helps?
davestasio Oct 22, 2013 @ 7:01pm
no that way my screen starts to turn black then

Unable to load mono library from "C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Gone Home/GoneHome_Data/Mono/mono.dll" (error = 193). again
Grommetik Oct 22, 2013 @ 7:01pm
I tried the 32-bt executable and it gave the same failed to load mono error
davestasio Oct 22, 2013 @ 7:03pm
yeah and the gome home dev page sends you to steam

I think I might be having a similar problem on my mac. If I load the unix executable directly I get this:

Got a SIGABRT while executing native code. This usually indicates
a fatal error in the mono runtime or one of the native libraries
used by your application.

OK. One more possible fix, can you please try (re) installing the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package? The 32-bit version is here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=5555 and the 64-bit is here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/confirmation.aspx?id=14632

Did not work for me either, I re-installed both the 32 and 64 bit versions and both still give the same "Unable to load mono library from "c:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Gone Home/GoneHome_Data/Mono/mono.dll" (error = 193)."

I tried re-installing the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package, it told me that I had a newer version already installed for both 32 and 64 bit. Tried re-installing the game. Tried running the 32-bit executable. Still no dice. Oddly enough, I also bought "Sir, You Are Being Hunted" game and have the same exact problem. Tried several other games I have but did not get this error.

I've tried the C++ and the 32bt exe and I reinstalled the game and I am still getting the error.
