In topic Crashes immediately on MacOS 12.2
Hey folks,

It looks like the input platform I use is not going to work with any modern MacOS, unfortunately. I've been trying to find a solution, and I'll keep trying, but for now I've pulled the Mac version from the store. Please request a refund if you bought the game on Mac as I can't support it right now. Sorry for this, I know it's a disappointment to all of us.

Thank you all for your logs, they were very helpful. I believe I identified the issue (an incompatibility with the input library) and have fixed it in the latest update. Please let me know if you're still seeing problems.

Hi,

Can you send me the player.log file for the game? It should be in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\LocalLow\Dim Bulb Games\Museum. You can send it to johnnemann at dimbulgames.com. Thanks!

In topic Breadth of Difficulty?
Hi,

There is actually a difficulty variant for many of the games. Some of them are always the same (like the ones that are just random generation) but The Door uses the hardest mode of the games, for example. It's not exposed to the user as an option, but I am considering adding that. It's mostly a UI problem of where to put the control!

And then some of the puzzles are randomly generated (like Sherlock or Mass Effect), and others have multiple forms (like King's Heir), so there is some variation.
Hi,

I added a resolution dropdown - I don't have an ultrawide monitor so I didn't realize the problems that would happen. Thanks for letting me know!

Where did you find problems with the Esc key? It is a bug if it does not work anywhere, and I would like to fix that.

Thanks!

In topic How did you do that?
Hi,

None of the minigames were pulled from the existing games, they were recreated from scratch. All the code and art is original, and none of the game types are patented.

Definitely not intentional, I have confirmed it's possible to grab every story. Are you sure you've visited every city and gotten their unique stories?

Fantastic news, thank you so much for testing that out and confirming!
Whoops, sorry! Somehow the branch didn't get updated with the build. There should be a public branch up now, no password needed.

Hi folks,

I have what I think is a fix for the cutscenes not playing on Linux builds - if you'd like to help test that out on your distro, please opt-in to the "linuxtest" beta (https://www.technipages.com/how-to-opt-into-a-game-beta-on-steam) and give it a try. Let me know if it works or doesn't work for you, and any other info you can give. Thanks!

Hi!

This is a known bug on Linux having to do with video playback. You can press "K" to skip the cutscenes here and get into the game.

Alternately, if you'd like to help me test a fix for this, you can switch to the "linuxtest" beta in the Steam client: https://www.technipages.com/how-to-opt-into-a-game-beta-on-steam

The new version should work fine without having to do anything special, but if you test it out please let me know if it works for you on Debian. Thank you!

Hi folks, something went wrong with the Mac version of the patch and it didn't get correctly pushed until today, sorry about that. It should be up now and it should fix those persistent crashes on OSX.
