Oh thanks guys, and does this game automatch with similar levels?
no the matchmaking doesn't match you to people with similar levels, if you're looking for the difficulty you can filter it in the option.

I'd say play on normal till you get used to it. Then if you want go to hard when you hit level 5-10. It might be a bit difficult though as there are fewer medics and more commando/gunslingers than there were in the past.

Just to clarify:
YES, you can levelup in offline game mode.
NO, you cant levelup when steam runs in offline mod.

You can't in offline mode, but you totally can in single-player. In fact, if you're new to the game, I'd recommend doing a couple sessions solo just to get a feel for how the game works, that way you'll be more prepared for when you join an online match.

You can level up in offline mode. I don't have Internet so I play offline a lot, and I notice a couple times my name in KF2 was just "Player" or "Player0". I don't know whether it was a bug that I could level up but I did as my actual accouny. A couple times I opened KF2 in offline mode, my name wasn't "Player" but "Visalth". I am trying to find out how/why I was able to play as my actual profile and when I figure it out I will share the results.

I think it's harder to learn the game playing solo. The dynamic of the game is very different when playing in a team.

Just join games on Normal and stick with the group. Try to read guides on what the zeds do and how to handle each of them (the rage mechanics are very important for example, also the fact that Sirens destroy grenades, etc, that kind of thing). Always go for headshots to be efficient and conserve ammo. Use the 9mm handgun in the first waves, the ammo is very cheap and it will help you get good weapons faster. Heal your teammates (buy a medic handgun if you have spare cash and learn how to use it). Learn when to hold your ground and when to run off, learn the map layouts, learn your chosen perk's role, get used to your weapons.

No one is going to take your head off if you noob around and from my experience, except for the occasional jerk. A lot of people will be glad to give you advice. Try to move out to Hard difficulty asap tho, as Normal doesn't have a lot of people that can give you good advice.
