AA12, Doomstick and Boomstick are the ones you should use no matter what.
- weak
Pick one.
The HZ12 is lighter and cheaper and has a larger ammo pool, larger mag and is also mag fed - you can carry a med pistol with it for the same weight as the 301.
The HZ12, T4 boomstick and T4 M4 is a pretty good combo (boomstick and M4 for larges and HZ for trash).
the AA12 is pretty strong though, especially in zed time, although it's kinda eh now since you can't really carry 3 shotguns with it anymore since the boomstick got nerfed to into oblivion
- AA12 + HZ12 + Boomstick.
Question is: Why would you want to use it? If your team is short of a medic, then play as a medic. If you already have a medic, you don'nt need it.
As mentioned by others, if you really want to contribute some healing as an off perk, pick up the medic pistol.
You are already contributing just by playing as support because your presence mean free ammunition (and armor) which means spared dosh.
M4, AA12 , Double Barrel and Doomstick, they are the bread and butter of the support class, these can deal with everything.
Mate, let me tell you that AA12 is one of the most picked late game shotguns on the game since Doomstick is another alt.
As for 301, it is overly shadowed by vanilla support shotguns (dbs, m4, aa12, doomstick) and you're better off carrying a Hmtech 101 Pistol if you want to heal people as a support
I used to pick AA12 and 301 for later waves or bosswave to have some healing capability, especially if there's no medic.
Problem is, TWI decided to nerf 301's fire rate for some reason and now it's a joke as a weapon, only ok as a backup, and even then it's a stretch.
what the hell is with TWI and these balance tweaks...
