Best strategy to solo Hell on Earth?
I'm hoping to obtain the rest of the Hell on Earth achievements for the vanilla maps (particuarly the ones that don't get played often). I've come close several times with my Medic, but I usually seem to fall short, often times during the Patriarch and Hans.

So I'm looking for some advice on how to achieve this. Would there be an easier class to solo? Any tricks that can be utilized to obtain a higher success rate?

If you're looking to unlock achievements either assemble a team of good players or do it solo. It doesn't really matter what perk you choose as long as you're good at it. Do 4 waves because that's obviously the easiest way. The best perk for a solo boss fight is probably zerk with the Evis.

Personally I've found 4 waves WAY harder than 7 or 10 waves. Probably because spawning system goes crazy on 4 waves HoE, I can have about 7 Husks, 2 FPs and 2-3 Scrakes on wave 2 already, when I don't have tier 3-4 weapons yet (or have, but not fully loaded).

The biggest mistake I make is standing my ground. I watch people on youtube who can't miss a shot unless they're trying and then I try to do the same and get destroyed. I'd say you should always be moving and not looking back while doing it. Run until you've got breathing room, turn and fight until you start getting pushed back, then run again. It'll take forever but it's much safer.

For me, I find SWAT to be the easiest perk for solo HoE waves, then I swap to Support for the boss wave.

Berserker with eviscorator is seriously overpowered on solo, with your movement speed, regen, and sheer damage, it's hard to lose a level 25 HOE solo game

Well fast moving perks are the easiest mostly - GS, berserker and medic are all viable choice without sudden death. GS might be bit difficult if someone could not defeat all vanila map even if they are already level 25 on some perk or something.

One thing sure is that you need to go pass waves in solo - meaing that you need to learn how
to roam (which is very different to usual camp tactic).
As soon as you can roam around and penetrate line of ♥♥♥♥♥ spawning in front of you, than all perks except demo and commando are quite easy.
Playing medic would give easier traing for breaking lines at roaming.

And as people marked, berserker + eviscerator at final wave is just go to combination.

With medic use double barrel to burst while kiting around. If you have lots of dosh and space get c4 and stack it on boss to finish him when he's low.
