2. They have other business to attend to
3. Friends invited them to another game
It happens. I think we have all done it.
Or sometimes they're fed up with the team play and probably got killed by one of those noob firebugs that rages every damn thing in sight.
I've seen more people leave a game due to a firebug causing the team mates death.
Could be they need the toilet, may need to dance on the ceiling like lionel richie ?
who knows could be a lot of things. But number 1 would be a rage quit.
+ you get your drop ,no reason to play anymore.
Maybe they jumped difficulty levels.
Maybe they were too tired to continue playing the game.
One time, my mom came over to my apartment, earlier than expected so I had to drop all my weapons and cash, even though the game was going well.
Maybe they needed to dance on the ceiling:

The reason I usually do it is the loss of money and weapons. If I have my tier 4, or multiple tier 3s or 2s, and then I die while carrying them then I'm probably going to leave unless I had a lot of cash on me. People usually can't or don't pick up my dropped weapon, and if I had multiple weapons then most of them are gone. After waiting around for the round to end, I then come back, rush to the trader, and no one gives me any money to get back up to speed. Sometimes they can't because we're on wave 5 or 6, so most people only just recently bought their best weapons and hence don't have any extra cash to spare. Then I end up having to fight a late wave with a tier 2 or 3 weapon, at best. Half the time I try to tough it out we get wiped on the very next wave.
I don't do this every time. Sometimes I'm on a team that I know is good, or I'm on an easy-mode class, or we're near the end of the game. Other times, we have multiple Survivalists, one of them is using a flamethrower, our Medic only heals Berserker, and our Demo thinks his M79 can take out scrakes, so I just leave as soon as my body hits the floor.
Yeah, M79 against Scrakes. I've seen it multiple times myself. Such a demo won't even know
that a dynamite can stun zeds and fire RPG first against FPs.
