What exactly is ramboing?

Someone said I was doing this earlier and it was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ him off.

I don't know what he had to be mad about; I had the most kills and I was giving them all my leftover dosh (because I was playing zerk, so no need for it). I wasn't interfering with their big zed takedowns (because I was away from the group, camped elsewhere) or dragging extra zeds to them either. I was just doing my own thing.

Might be because you ran off from the group and weren't covering them and that upset him. What difficulty were you on?

And so what if I don't stick with the group? I can take care of myself. I kill my fair share of zeds, I'm giving them my extra money, I don't get in their way and I'm taking pressure off the team by lightening the number of zeds they have to deal with, including Scrakes and Fleshpounds. If I can go off on my own away from the team and still survive and contribute to the team, why is it such a big deal that I do it?

That's just how multiplayer games end up being. There's people who will get super nit picky about teamplay while others just prefer to enjoy the game.

Most players don't want to be given dosh, they want to work for it. When one player is 100-200+ kills above everybody else because they are playing solo in a co-op game, they are having an impact upon the fun of the majority.

EDIT: And now I've just realised how harsh I am being. What I am actually trying to say:
Rambo'ing, when a single player believes that their version of fun trumps everybody else’s, particularly when they try to use a multiplayer server as a solo match.

Well, they can work for it then. I'll only give it to them if they want it. But I'm not gonna glue myself to the team when I play better away from them, especially if they don't need me.

Fewer mobs solo and the lower health makes it too easy. I want more of a challenge.

What if the other people don't want to feel it easier but as challenging as you do? World doesn't revolve around you. You gotta accept the fact that this method is pretty egoistical and anti team. None will stop you to keep having it your way, but I won't blame those players that will kick you for your behiavour.

I used to, until I consistently ran into players that would run in front of the choke I was holding and start shooting everything I was dealing with, when I either didn't need their help, or the rest of the team was getting slaughtered at the other choke.

And I get teammates that habitually do this, even now. I don't need their help, I've got my choke under control, and they rush in past me and start blasting everything anyway, robbing me of dosh/experience and making my job harder.
