On the other hand you won't need bonus armor if you play wisely and avoid to get hit. If you're uncapable to do so, keep picking the bonus armor but let other people pick cripple that is perfectly fine as it is.
Read the description carefully: "Multiple hits with perk weapons will slow Zeds down up to 30%. Hitting the legs is most effective."
This means first of all that in order to activate the effect, you must shoot in full auto. And you better aim for legs, otherwise you won't really notice the effect. Even though it isn't stated, I'm pretty sure the effect lasts at least 4-5 seconds once you dispatched enough bullets in big zed's legs, which is not a lot but enough to take an advantage. My suggestion is, pick a weaker smg (like MP7) and shoot in the legs of zed, then switch to a powerful smg like Kriss to have more time to deal high damage to head. And don't forget to use flashbangs to gain even more time before the zed eventually manages to reach and hit you and/or your teammates.
I find the bonus armour is actually completely useless. Armour is good for new players on normal and hard who get hit a lot and need the extra protection, but on suicidal and hoe, armour is usually depleted very quickly by crawler gas/stalkers and crawlers, leaving little to actually protect you from big zeds. I find most of the time armour doesn't save you on the highest difficulties, if you died without armour you likely wouldve died with armour also. Even on hoe I don't usualy buy armour until about wave 6 or 7, because by that point you have so much money theres no reason not too.
So what I'm saying is the default 100 armour is already mostly useless. having 50 extra is worthless. stumble on the other hand is great. It allows you to kill scrakes without needing a flashbang, and is very very impoortant for hans, where the stumble is really a lifesaver. I don't use any of the left side skills in-fact, would rather have extra speed, reload and stumble, seems to fit swats role more.
Results of it in the boss stage are incredible too.
so, they both are good, they are just slightly situational.
Unlike extra armor, which lasts only as long as you still have armor, you will always be able to cripple zeds as long as you have ammo. You have more ammo than armor.
Crippling even helps greatly reducing the chances of being hit so early whether its you or your teammate.
