I admit it, this is a really fun game. This game makes me so angry though because of all of the stinking bugs. Every time i enter an airport while planes are flying nearby if i close the airport menu it says all my planes have crashed. It is so frustrating losing all my aces at once because the game registers them as crashed for some reason.

This tiny game is a rough gem. You can see the love and dedication that the developer (I believe an individual) put into the game. They should be applauded for their hard work.

However, this game has its faults, like any other. It comes with bugs, and it does taste a tad undercooked. I sense a rush to the end of EA to finish it and be done. As a writer and visual artist I can understand that a project can become too much, and sometimes you rush to the end to be finished with it, and if not completely satisfied, you're at least released from the burden. This fun, diminutive game does feel like this, at times.

Let me end this terse review on a positive note by stating how much I'm enjoying it for the short time I've played. I'm a history enthusiast, and aviation history I especially enjoy. It checks many boxes, from the simple map of the Western Front, to watching and participating in the R&D and manufacture of the new designs that grew out of the Great, and horrible, War. The basic missions of scouting and bombing, training your pilots and watching them grow with experience, and sometimes not make it back to the aerodrome as a casualty of war and a youth cut short....

There's much more to the game than at first glance, so it does take at least a couple hours to start seeing the depth of the game. Surprisingly, more than I anticipated.

In the end, there's a game here, inexpensive, delightful, a bit truncated by design, but despite the flaws, worth the money, and certainly worth it if you appreciate WWI aviation.
