Turning it off makes the game look better.
PS: Turn off Motion Blur as well.
I know... but this is in general useful info that goes hand-in-hand with turning off texture smoothing.
If someone asks "what does turning off texture smoothing do?" they might need to be informed about motion blur as well.
Having just an on/off switch is a huge bummer
Definitely a preference thing
I wonder though if texture smoothing helps with colour banding? I turned it straight off but notice abit of colour banding on the intro cutscene of the game
There's a bunch of r_crt_ variables
Turning off fog seems to help with banding.
