weapon switching sound turn off

Hey just started playing and the game makes this annoying 'whoosh' sound when swapping weapons. Im pretty sure the original didn't have it but is there a way to turn it off?

yeah... xD this is my only complaint, it sounds SO goofy, like why? xD

Hoping someone finds a console command to disable it, or maybe a mod..

Its the weapon swap sound effect from Quake 3, so it is technically fitting (or at least to the source material)...

But at the same time this is something I feel should be a toggle option.

Here:

g_quick_weapon_switch

This disables the sound as far as I know, but it also removes fast weapon switching (like Quake 3) so make of that what you will.

That command doesn't disable the weapon switching sound.

Im late but weapon swap sound can be turned off via the "Remove Weapon Changing Sound That Came From Quake III by Bathy Salts" mod provided in this guide:
