I don't know that gender is ever actually established in Quake II. I think you pretty much play whatever you imagine is on the other end of those hands. : p

Do you hear a voice in Quake II? It's a been a really long time.
And I'm preeetty sure I remember you can see hand with the pistol, and the shotgun.
Anyway, if you're looking for an old school PC game where you play the campaign as a bonafide girl, the only ones I can think of off the top of my head are No One Lives Forever 1 & 2 (which are darn good).

I've long since lost my old disks, so I've been thinking about rebuying the old Quake games since the Summer Sale is happening. I poked my head into the boards for a couple of them and noticed your Quakestions.

I was gonna buy the Quakollection but decided I only wanted Quake 3: Team Arena when it goes on sale for $3.75, until then I have every Unreal, Unreal is better than Halo, if only I knew of this hidden gem... The game is completely my style, it's like it was made by me

Go to the multiplayer set up and set your model to female. Applies to both singleplayer and multiplayer.

ya there is a female model. just goto multiplayer menu and change model to female
server program here. www.moddb.com/games/quake-2/downloads/r1chnet-quake-2-server-browser-beta-3
some servers say it has mp bots in server name

Works for multiplayer too, I remember when i was a little boy, my dad changed my model to bart simpson and his to homer.

Long story short. Yes, yes you can. I played Multiplayer co-op with my girlfriend and friends. There is a female option :)
