* The game is still in beta indeed, but worry not because the estimated release date is February 2015.
* Though the game is very similar to DK it has some new mechanics too: potions, beasts, the Veins of Evil (tech tree), rituals, new terrain types, etc.
* The devs are tying their best to get the multiplayer working atm, but if you Port forward you can play online with your friends on the current public build.
* IMO the graphics and visual effects are quite beautiful, especially when you compare it to the original DK. :p
It was due for release aug 2013 according to their website and the game itself, but that kinda changed at some point into "indefinite". I guess they wanted to really throw a lot of extra stuff into the game. Which, IMHO pulled it away from the formula... I'm hoping it ends up as fun as the originals.
Lol at this. Most people supported it for the MP section, because that was broken in DK2. Don't project your weird expectations on the community.
When the project started on KeeperKlan a few years ago it was originally meant to be a DK clone. Unfortunately SubT does not own the rights to the franchise (they tried to obtain it though) so the game has to be made different in order to avoid being sued by EA games.
While it's impossible to know everyones buying motive, I can say that SP and MP are equally important to the devs. On our forums I've seen people that were asking for more campaign levels as much as people who really like to see the MP working.
