How do i use the soundtrack on steam for brutal legend

Use?
You hear the soundtrack music if you don't play the licensed music.

it's in your brutal legends folder in the steam folder.

The licensed music is in game only. The Brutal Legend score is in the Steam/Steamapps/common/Brutal Legend folder.

what a rip. i thought the soundtrack was the songs in the game too, feeling a bit annoyed now, this should have been stated on the steam page..... very misleading.. 20 songs too... i expected a hell of a lot more

well yeh i should have paid more attention to the price and used a bit of sense, but come on, 'soundtrack' and then 'original soundstrack' is totally misleading... doesnt really matter now though as the files are accessible so i have the 'real' soundtrack

it's called the "original soundtrack" for a reason, it's not misleading unless you don't know what original means (which is really on you).

I was also hoping for access to all of the songs, too, not just the equivalent of a musical score. "Original soundtrack" I hoped meant music by the original artists. The music's on our hard drives anyway (in .fsb format), so it is in our possession to listen to whenever we want by playing the game. Why not make it so that we can listen to it while not playing the game? Of course we can scour the web for information on converting fsb files to something else, but that's hardly very user friendly.

20 songs for 4 bucks is cheap, too. Keep in mind that the artists whose songs we expected on the soundtrack were already paid to have their music appear in the game, so I don't find it inconceivable to have had access to all 107 songs for those of us who paid extra for the deluxe edition. Many entire albums on Amazon's mp3 store are free, too, so it's not like the "99 cents per song" formula is applicable in every instance.

Just about everyone I've spoken to, including me, thought we'd get all the awesome songs from the game. It's a ripoff IMO, should be stated clearly that it's only the instrumental cutscene music and not the actuall awesome ingame music. What they've done here, that just ain't metal!

EVERY Soundtrack on Steam should have it's tracklist anyway.
