because of tearing and wrong aspect ratio.

they should update this game because they made a lot of money so why let it die ?

yes i know about this, sill there could or should be an official release because all the other parts need an upgrade too.

for example 2 and 3 do not really work on my windows system but they run on Linux (proton) which is new because they did not work at all before proton 5 or 4.

There's a version of the automated fix already for TR2, and other patches available for TR3.

there has been some talk about remastered versions but they did not get the licence.

an official release could fix other things as well, like higher fps etc .

take a look for example at Diablo 2 Resurrected

that one is great and some massive improvement - they should do something like this but maybe the games is not popular enough.

btw, i do not care if they remove all of their products from the market, i'd play something else instead.

Technically Speaking Tomb Raider Anniversary was the Remake of this.

yes it looks simlar but it's completely different

also the gameplay is different because of the mouse etc …

it's not that i cant live without these games but why not ?

i've read about some plans for remastered versions for these games but they did not get the licence.

you know tombati ? it's better than any dosbox, also i am on Linux most of the time and there i have DosBox and ScummVM (for other games) but this one has no glide.

these games are too old for modern computers and even if i play dosbox with tearing, i still have the wrong aspect ratio.

what's wrong with remastered versions? nothing at all!

Where is this autopatch for TR2? I have messed up TR2 with trying to patch it myself with the result of Lara appearing really far away whenever she has a weapon drawn.

Anniversary was a remake, and a slightly butchered remake at that as they removed some levels, merged other levels together and altered the story to make it fit in better with Legend at the time.

There is no remaster after they made the reboots. They were just starting over by that point.

Personally, I'm more attached to having the original experience. I failed getting it to work on Windows XP as well (It's supposed to run DOS, as I have very little trouble playing the early DOS versions of the LSL series without DosBox), but whatever.

I can confirm Automated Fix works on Windows 10 for that matter, so that's fine for now. You can optionally use the other improvements included in AF and that will essentially make it a remaster, but it's unofficial. I only used it to get it to run without DosBox and to have the bonus chapters that weren't included in Steam.

It will run on dosbox-x with glide on Linux but only with the original resolution. Also there is tombati for windows, which is the best version so far. And lets not forget about OpenLara which works on many platforms but it feels a bit different.
