The game is too dark
It is really hard to play when you can see practically nothing.. My gamma settings in the game is the brightest, I tried to screw around with my monitor setting, but that just makes everything look broken. On top of that, the lighter you have as a default doesn't make any light at all (I suppose that is what it's supposed to do). I get it that darkness is supposed to add more challenge to the gameplay, but this is just ridiculous.

Never had problems with the darkness in the game. Actually I find it quite challenging when the zombies can ambush you in the dark.

Hey there sorry about the issue you are having could you provide a screenshot of an area you feel is too dark so I can compare it and see if it's an issue on your end or just how the game is supposed to look?

The game in general is dark but it shouldn't feel like the game is always so dark that you can't see anything (although there are some areas that are meant to be used with the flashlight). The lighter isn't meant to give off a lot of light but it should give off some though.

These are screenshot from the map mno_brooklyn both made in the same corridor from 2 different angles

The bug where the lighter didn't produce light seems to have sorted itself out and it functions again. I don't know what was up with that, but it's no longer an issue. The game is more playable now and I feel like I made an ass out of myself here.

Don't worry about it, I rather hear it's working again properly then have to go tell our programmer there might be a new bug.

Well, I have found a little thing about colour correction. These were done in Toxteth (if I recall correctly):

While not EXACTLY the darkness you posted on those two links, disabling colour correction might help a bit.

I might try that out, thanks man!

i think the problem from us mappers perspective is its so difficult to get the lighting to look good on all types of monitors and how they are setup and yeah color correction on toxteth is made purposely dark but not that dark, i have no idea why your screen is almost pitch black
