Report a translation problem
The game in general is dark but it shouldn't feel like the game is always so dark that you can't see anything (although there are some areas that are meant to be used with the flashlight). The lighter isn't meant to give off a lot of light but it should give off some though.

The bug where the lighter didn't produce light seems to have sorted itself out and it functions again. I don't know what was up with that, but it's no longer an issue. The game is more playable now and I feel like I made an ass out of myself here.

While not EXACTLY the darkness you posted on those two links, disabling colour correction might help a bit.
