NMRIH Map Creation: Help Needed!

I am new to map creation and I want to create a NMRIH map for me and my friends to play on. I have never used the SDK before. I need help all the way from step 1 to finish.

theres tons of tutorials out there you need to learn the basics of hammer, search youtube, start with the interface, how to build a simple room, lighting etc it shouldnt be to hard to get going , but i will stress hammer is imo a difficult level editor to get really good at, so dont expect it to be easy to pull a half decent nmrih map out of the bag, just learn and give yourself some patience and you should be ok

I got this error message when trying to start Hammer. " Setup file ' gameinfo.txt' doesn't exist in subdirectory 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\half-life 2 episode two\ep2'. Check your -game parameter or VCONFIG setting. " I have no clue what this means, what do I do?

Are you launching hammer from the start up menu that pops up when you launch the game?

I installed Source SDK from steam. It created an icon on my desktop, I double click the Source SDK on my desktop to open it. Then set it up the way it is on that video in the above comment. Then double click the Hammer, at the top. That is the error I get. What should I do?

When you turn on NMRiH and have a choice of play NMRiH or Start Hammer, pick Start Hammer from there. Our game doesn't use the Source SDK tool directly.

yes, just use the nmrih SDK.

Is there some sort of video tutorial on this? I have been at it for days and still am not making heads or tales of this.

We don't have one at the moment but steam guide tutorials + video tutorials covering mapping for NMRiH is on my long list of to do things.

If your just starting out mapping learn to map first objectives are not that easy to get fully implemented especially for a beginner
