PS5 controller double pressing
Anyone else have this problem? I am playing with a PS5 controller connected with USB C and it keeps double pressing the X button. So when I press X to speed up the text when talking to someone, it just skips that dialogue part. Or when I enter a shop, it just instantly goes to the "select amount" part so I can't really scroll up or down a shop. I gotta try a couple of times and just press the X button super fast so it only registers 1 press. Super irritating

You can fix this with Special K.

Set HideAllDevices=true under Input.XInput in its INI.

Game will then only use native PlayStation controller input.

Not completely sure what this means. I downloaded Special K, but I have no idea what that is or where to find the input.xinput ini file you are referring to

Launch the game with SKIF, close it, then click on "SpecialK.ini" near the launch button. It's in that INI file.

When I changed that to true, nothing on the controller worked except for the X button.

This game has native DualSense support. Maybe you have Steam Input enabled or something?

The double-input processing is generally because you have something emulating XInput. I'd suggest DS4Windows instead of Steam Input.

@Kaldaien-WillNotReply you should just mention him DS4Windows first. And no offense, but seems like you didn't help him all.

@Saiha is there still double input problem with your PS5 controller?

Yeah there is, but not always. I'm not sure what's triggering it. I kinda get the feeling that it's the 2x speed during dialogue function by pressing R2, but i'm not 100% sure. Gonna do some more testing today. I can also try to test DS4 and see how that goes

What would that accomplish? That would just be a third piece of software emulating XInput.

The problem with the game is that it sees XInput and DirectInput at the same time, DS4Windows can't fix that. SK can hide all XInput devices from the game, however, in order to prevent double input.

@Saiha I just tried on DS4Windows with hidHide. So I disable the dualsense with hidHide, then make virtual XBOX 360 with DS4Windows.

FYI, DS4Windows has hidHide configuration, but both need to install separately. More info to their website https://ds4-windows.com/download/hidhide/

That'll get you Xbox buttons. Don't do that. Just disable DS4Windows' virtual controller or turn it off completely.
