Need product key?

It says I need the product key but when I go to steam library and click CD KEY it just says 'Requesting Key' for the past 15 min. It won't give my my cd/product key to use. Could I still play this game without it? Will my saves and would mods work and everything?

I just got the itch to play, and haven't played the Steam version much at all, and not at all since my last system wipe. I decide to fire it up, go through the install process... and bam. Same problem as you.

I've never had an issue with Steam not telling me my CD Key for a game, so this is strange. Even if GFWL was having an issue, I don't see how that stops Steam from telling my what my key is, when I bought the game years ago.

The same problem does not give the key to the Fallout 3 GOTY.If you find any solution please help.

Just tried to look up my key for a couple of other games that have them, and the key loaded fine for those. That includes Dark Souls, which also uses GFWL.

Do I absolutely NEED this key to play or can I mod and play normally with saves and such without the key? Please answer somebody.

You don't need the key. You will probably want to read this set-up guide:

If you have windows 7, 8, or 8.1 you will probably need to do step 4 and/or 6 to prevent the majority of freezes and crashes. You should also do step 2 to disable GFWL. I'd also highly recommend installing and using the save manager CASM which is mentioned later in the thread.

You don't need to enter the CD code. Just hit the HOME button after all the intros are over and you should be able to play.

WTF - the mod for "disable GFWL" isn´t there. Why can´t steam solve this problem ? This is not ok - i want to contact the steam support but if i try i get another login problem at the support site. If steam doesn´t solve the "problem with the keys", i never will buy a digital game at steam (i have bought every week two games or more) ...

i tried to contact steam and i got follow error : "Either the username / password you entered is incorrect or You did not enter the correct image verification code." THIS ERROR IS B U L L S H I T - i made no mistakes and i tried it 20 times - REALLY ! So Steam gives a f u c k for the steam costumers !!! But why ? (so i can´t use a purchased game at Steam ...) WTF

What? I don't understand.

The GFWL disabler mod has absolutely nothing to do with steam. It's a third party site:

That site isn't the most reliable though, but I assure you the mod is there. Clisk the "files" tab then "download manually"

As for steam support, you need to make a new account specifically for a support ticket. You don't use your current steam account.

I cant get the access to my product key either, ♥♥♥♥. I'll have to look up how to play with saves without GFWL since this piece of ♥♥♥♥ is responsible for the most issues for the game that uses it (correct me if im wrong).

I want to get my product key so I get the DLCs with the GOTY but when I try to get one by requesting one it just does nothing. I wont to make the extra £1 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ worth it.
