xlive.dll not found

when I start the game up I get an error that the xlive.dll has not been found.
I repaired the game files and even redownloaded the game without success.

Isn't it that the steam version was patched to not use the games for windows live anymore?

Yes. They made it where you had to download xlive.dll and add it yourself for it to work. Then patched it where IT WON'T WORK AT ALL!!!

It works OOB now. It will crash on run if you are not using the Intel HD Bypass mod. Alternatively, assign your GPU in Windows. Google it.

This guide here solved the problem for me, by putting the xlive.dll file INSIDE FO3 GOTY folder.

I see you are from Germany. The german version never got the October 2021 update, so you need to manually find a xlive.dll (just google it) to get the game to run. Also mods won´t work. Either get the GOG version or pray to Todd Howard that the german version gets updated as well.

This helps to add gore and english language files to the german version, but it still doesn't help with Windows Live or installing mods as the german .exe itself is the problem for those.

Thank you very much for this guide. I managed to make it start, but couldn't use many MODs because this new version is not compatible to FOSE.

Es ist echt schon erbärmlich das man zwar die Neuigkeit angezeigt bekommt das der Patch GfWL entfernt aber es trotzdem nicht funktioniert weil das Spiel XLive.dll sucht.

Selbst mit dem Mod von Nexusmods der das entfernen soll funktioniert es nicht.

Wenn man schon einen Patch raus bringt sollte der doch für alle Versionen vom Spiel sein und nicht nach dem Motto arbeiten "Ja, aber deine Version ist die zensierte, da funktioniert das nicht".
