Each enemy can be stunned one way or another. For example, the Ooze (standard T-AV zombie thing) can be stunned by shooting his arms untill they "hang" like they are broken. If you break both arms he will stand there stunned for a bit.
Run up to him and hold your attack button to full charge = profit. A kill without wasting as much ammo.
Again, each mob as a sweet spot to stun them. Most do anyway.
The blowfish in Raid should be handled with melee swings exclusively. One shot to stagger, then approach and melee until it dies. The piranha type enemies and dogs are also very weak to melee swings if you can corner them. Shoot a hunter/ooze with a shotgun to hit the floor, then melee swing to conserve ammo. Some characters have vey fast, but weak melee swings. Others have extremely strong swings, but are slow. Jill is actually quite good and better than most due to extreme speed. Ooze Rachael or Parker scuba outfit have the strongest I believe, but are slow. Keith is really good for melee as well.
Now a physical attack can only be done on a stunned enemy. Like Daemoc said shoot an ooze in both arms to stun them. Their tongue will fall out as they are stunned, as they are immediately disabled due to Jill's wetsuit, Racheal's bust, or Ada in a dress
Scagdead can be easily set up for a physical attack with pulse grenades, as well as most enemies. Shooting a hunter while it's running or jumping will flip them, allowing a physical attack. These attacks do massive damage, and can be positioned to hit other enemies with good timing. You can also try to line up a crit hit by performing the attack at certain angles.
The best thing about physical attacks is temporary invulnerability for your character during the execution (still vulnerable during wind up.) With all the different characters with slightly different attacks, it's really interesting.
But yeah, trying to melee a wall blister or suicide ooze would not be a good idea. :)
As soon as he starts to swing, hit w. It was kind of weird at first, but you will get the hang of it. Certain characters in raid have a bigger "dodge" window. Using a "light" weapon helps as well.
Yes you can melee then both, but I mean can they be set up for a physical attack? The button prompt for massive damage.
I use a controller and dodging may or may not be easier with the analog stick. You can't dodge while you are aiming, shooting, swinging melee weapon, or throwing a grenade. The best time to dodge in when you're caught reloading. I just wish this game had reload cancels.
It is possible to stun a Scarmiglione too. Stun grenades work, but it also stuns if you do damage to it a lot of times (essentially, chip damage). It can only stun if it is still whole, though.
About the Draghignazzo - Yes you can melee attack it. But can you button prompt stun physical attack? Jill's spin kick instead of a knife thrust. I assume the time to do so would be when it falls over, yet I have never seen a button prompt to attack. I'm guessing it's not an option for Draghigs.
When you stun Norman, do you usually go for the physical attack or shoot his backside weak spot?
