A group to play with

Is there a group on steam or discord where players can ask to friend/play with them, kinda how the portal 2 community ask each other for a co-op partner. sure there is the match making already built in but people seem to have trouble with that. i'd figure the same approach of "ay, if anyone down to play hmu" would work but i'm not sure. i'm just spit ballin'

Not sure if we can just post Discord links on the Steam forums, but on the main menu there's a big icon for the official Discord server. That server then has a bunch of links on it to offshoot servers like Rivals Academy. There are also servers for each character, although you have to either track down the links for each or join Rivals Academy, which lists them all except Fleet and Loxodont.

Finding someone at the right skill level and with matching availability isn't necessarily easy, but if you're comfortable asking around, there's a lot of active people there.
