YT tells you the details better than I could.
AFAIK you can't hitfall an attack on shield no?
All characters can punish, and all characters have enough end lag to be punished. You cant run across the map and punish them if that's what you mean, you have to be spacing well.
Hit shield with safe move > dash back > punish option after shield drop
Or hit shield with spaced move > watch opponent whiff jab > hit them
or move like you're going to attack but grab instead
Defensive options are pretty strong in this, but if you're literally being jabbed out of shield, you're hitting with stuff that's like -14 or worse, which means you're just throwing yourself at people in a way that's straight-up asking to be punished like this.
second part is completely right and while the first part is right in theory the difference in execution between perfectly spacing an attack, then dash back almost frame perfect to counter one of the most easy options in the game where you just have to hold shield and then press attack for the shield grab just does not add up.
in general the games meta is way to defensive. professional players like Mang0 and Dabuz have already voiced the same concern.
Do this a few times and then if they start punishing you put out a late aerial.
Space your aerials so they miss their jab by crossing them up.
You can probably do a late aerial and then grab when your move autocancels.
Lox full range foward tilt a few times until you can break their shield by running up and up smashing.
If they really don't want to approach, get your stacks for free.
Lox side b, pay attention to the option they pick (Tech or no tech, roll, getup or attack) and then punish it next time.
And then all of the other advice like cc, parry, etc.
It's strong but just like everything there's a way to play against it. FYI Mang0 and people in masters play against people who make very little mistakes which is why they're frustrated, but we're lower than them so just try to take a positive attitude and have fun. Ranked isn't worth it if you aren't.
