Those complaining about the 30$ starting price, consider this.
Consider the following when you are complaining about the price here:

1. All future DLC characters will be FREE! The roster most likely double over the course of it's lifetime, so this 30$ game with 10 characters will become a 30$ game with 20 characters, maybe even more than that!

2. Cosmetics will be FREE if you keep on top of events! there's no BS paid battle pass. The creator has said that you can purchase the cosmetics separately if you miss en event, but it'll essentially be free if you just regularly play the game.

3. This game has a good chance of all characters being viable at all times! I can't imagine any one character will stay broken, or unplayable for long periods of time. You won't have a game like Marvel vs Capcom 2 where over half of the roster is unplayable in tournaments, or anything like that.

We all know the game doesn't take off and survive.

Guy had to produce SOMETHING after this Kickstarter, I'm assuming this is all you'll see
Rivals 2 surpassed Call of Duty on the top sellers and is currently right behind it

Those saying the game will die off quickly can go kick rocks. If a game is good, people will stick with it. The original Rivals of Aether had a very dedicated community that kept the game afloat for a whole decade, and Rivals 2 is bringing in a lot of new faces that are passionate about platform fighters. So stop with your made up reasoning for why the game won't succeed.

Lol, I can't believe how wrong this statement is. This argument is entirely based on the assumption that you can't enjoy a game that you're bad at. I'm not good at this game by any stretch of the imagination, but I still enjoy playing even when I'm getting my ass handed to me. People who refund the game simply because they can't handle losing have a major skill issue.
I remember being constantly destroyed in Smash by my friends when I first started playing but I still had fun playing it. (So I am ready for repeating the process for Rivals Of Aether 2.) Plus, it made it all the more satisfying once I started snagging in more victories in matches.

Exactly people who want to buy it cheap are just being cheap and don't want to support an indie game company who has done nothing but release high quality content and people who want it free never understand free never means free a "free" game makes up for it by nickle and diming you for every damn thing you want to do

Yes and no. You can support creators in ways that don't hurt your wallet as much. I think Hakita, creator of Ultrakill, said it best when responding to someone who pirated their game.

"As creator of said game: You should support indies if you can, but culture shouldn't exist only for those who can afford it. ULTRAKILL wouldn't exist if I hadn't had easy access to movies, music, and games growing up. If you don't have money, you can support via word of mouth"

We don't actually know how generous the events are going to be.
