Downgrade to UE4 if you want most people to enjoy the game
Let's be real here. The graphics in this demo are not good enough to justify using UE5.

I'm beyond amazed by how well the game mimics Half Life 2. It's great in that.

But there is absolutely no reason to use UE5. Even with Lumen turned all the way off the game was extremely choppy and sluggish, i cannot recommend it at all for that.

Yeah I kinda agree that they should have stuck with UE4 mainly because it defaults to DirectX 11 which gives really good performance and less stuttering overall. However the devs can still make this work in UE5 by enabling DX11 support in the game's project settings

UE5 improved performance vs. UE4. That was one of the main reasons in switching. Most people are encountering bugs which cause performance holding patterns, rather than inefficiencies in the actual rendering.

I don't doubt an actual devloper. I just seem to notice that stuttering and low framerates are way more present in ue5 games rather than 4.

Either way, i think you should scale down the heavier stuff in the game. They are not worth the extra requirements

You can try the performance mode (-DP=Windows_Performance in launch options)
