Why it's worth it? Well, if you are a tower defense fan then go play the first DG and you will understand why it would be worth it to get this.

for me the first game was the best tower defence game i have played . If i got as many hours out of this one it would be well worth the money.

plus they patched and gave free DLC's with the first one and went in my good books

You really should try defense grid 1. It's pretty cheap now I bet. Defense grid the best tower game i have ever played. I'm afraid of Dg2, hope they did not mess with success too much. The graphics in the video look cheesy for one thing. I prefer the top down zoomed out look, this looks too much in your face for me.

That camera is just for the trailer. The view is the same as DG1 with the top down zoom in camera.
Grab a beta key and see for yourself! The missile and flame effects are amazing!
And the boost towers and extending environments are game changing in great ways

Apparently, yeah. I mean, I loved DG1 to bits, but so far I'm not really seeing the point in buying a game that doesn't bring anything that's really new or interesting to the previous game besides a multiplayer mode that nobody asked for and towers that are harder to tell apart when compared to the ones from the PREVIOUS game.

If you play a "normal" tower defense you play it one time. This tower defense you play and play. It is just quality game.

tower defence games are famous for needing and having the latest graphics , they are no good unless they use all the latest graphics techniques so only 10% of people can play it . A game should be judged only on its graphics , especially a tower defence game , graphics are everything. And good graphics or art arent enough it must be the best , it must use at least 8 acronoyms for the graphic effects it has.
