Hello Rena, thanks for getting in touch with us and sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

We can't say at this time if the Steam Deck is officially supported, as Valve may still be testing compatibility, but when they have completed this test, this disclaimer will be added to the game's Steam store page.

Judging by other player comments in the forum so far, players have been able to play the game on Deck without any major issues so far. Please see the following Steam Deck websites for any further information >

Why should Steam users care about an operating system they don't use? It's pretty expected for Steam Deck users to want better support. If anything, bitter Linux goblins should be grateful for the huge boost that the Deck has given Proton.

It wasn't just not caring. The hate from the steam community was massive. "Use a real OS", "Nobody cares about/uses Linux", "Stop begging/whining", etc. Now the shoe's on the other foot.

yes it sucks how little linux support games get on here, but that is no reason to be a whiney ♥♥♥♥ towards a steam deck user asking for steam deck support.

I just want to play this on steam deck because I can't use my switch anymore because after using the steam deck the switch feels so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tiny in my hands.

Ubisoft doesnt sell native linux ports since it uses its ubisoft connect client. I recall reading somewhere that it is compatible with proton, but they had to mess around with the configuration to run ubisoft connect launcher. Also there should be binaries compatible since PS3 and PS4 use a fork of FreeBSD, iirc nintendo switch is also build around freeBSD, and stadia is build on debian linux servers, so.... the only issue is ubisoft connect launcher being windows only.

What support you want? Just because it is not officially Steam Deck compatible, it 99% will work with Proton.

You mean single player?

It works on Deck, though all I did was load into the first level and press buttons. You have to set it to gamepad controls through the Deck control settings though.

I cannot get it to launch on the Steam Deck at all.
ko Jan 5, 2023 @ 10:58am
I can't get through Ubisoft Connect on my Steam Deck. Keeps saying Connection Lost / A Ubisoft service is currently unavailable.

I just get the loading Steam logo. Not even sure how you all are getting past that. I have tried different versions of Proton as well, including hotfix, experimental, and GE-Proton 7-43.
