Don't buy this.
This PC port is ass. Denuvo, sound mixing problems, graphical corruptions, slowdown in certain cutscenes, and doesn't support any controllers other than Xbox despite the button prompts being in the files. Just get this on console or use RPCS3.

I just don't understand why they would bother adding in denuvo to a 12-year-old cult classic. All the people who are interested in this game are probably already aware of emulated versions, etc. Adding denuvo only makes those versions of the game more appealing.

Highly exaggerated claims, I've played the original console versions a tonne and this version works great. Sure Denuvo doesn't make sense but no slowdown and with Steam input everything works. Things like controller prompts don't really matter to me as anyone using a controller on PC gets used to Xbox prompts everywhere (not world-ending). I noticed very rare cases where a thin white line shows up in shop areas and once a vertical one in a level but it was a very minor quibble. Did not notice any sound mixing issues at all. Anyone wishing the port does not sell is just asking for it to disappear again. Complain to Ubi to fix the issues instead.

The sound issue i find it to be mostly fixed on TV when enabling loudness equalization in windows. Apparently ubisoft doesnt know how to implement audio, because watchdogs had the same issue.

The original sold just fine, the reason it disappeared was it being a digital-exclusive game by a third-party developer based on a licensed property for which the license expired. Same thing happened to Deadpool.

Also it's adorable that you think griping to Ubisoft, of all companies, about a half-assed port of a decade-old game that's been out for a year already, is going to amount to anything other than wasted breath. I could cite several other reasons not to buy the game, such as the unlikelihood of any of the original team being involved or getting any money from this so it will be almost entirely funneled back into one of the most nightmarishly abusive games companies on the planet -- but clearly DRM is the bigger issue so why bother.

certainly DRM is the biggest issue for me, denuvo is ♥♥♥♥, I dont really care who gets the money from a 12 yo game

I will buy this. I've been waiting almost a decade for this game to become available again after its delisting from digital stores making it unobtainable due to lack of a physical release back then. Do I want them to remove denuvo once the initial sales window is over? Of course. If they don't then eventually this release will be unplayable and the game will be lost to time again. (but at least this time they were smart enough to make physical versions so it won't be completely lost) I'm not missing my chance to play this this time so I will be buying it.

This is the same company that took away DLC of an old Assassin's Creed game from people who bought it and didn't give refunds. You honestly think they're nice enough to remove Denuvo from a 12 year old game after they were dickish enough to add it in the first place? And as for it "going away", yeah obviously it's going to go away again, it's inevitable. I don't blame you for wanting to buy this game, it's fantastic. But there's MUCH better options for playing this game. If you really want it on PC, wait for a crack or a sale.

remove the denuvo and I"ll buy it regardless. ... be like the 4th time I bought it. ... Last time, if it was for PC to begin w/

Its normally $14.99 on the Ubistore so I think its safe to assume it will be $14.99 here as well. I think the best you can hope for is a small release discount.

The Switch version is a good option. It's got the glitches that were introduced with the Complete edition but they don't ruin the game by any means. I actually have like 80 hours clocked into that version lol
