I have no idea how to do that and wouldn't that use too much of my computers resources? I I have an Intel Core i7-10750H CPU, GeForce RTX 2080, 16 GB RAM, Windows 10.

tbh you should be fine with that set up.

I never noticed any slowdown, don't forget a server (although it sounds big) doesn't have to do as much "stuff" as the actual game in most cases (no graphics etc) and it just stores info.

I can't assist directly but there's loads if guide online on "how to" and its not super complex.

essentially you install tge server via Steam just like any game, there's like 2 text lines to edit to configure the server.

then you run the server and after a bit it's "ready" then you go ingame and jump on the local server!

when you're done playing, exit dayz then exit the server app and all your progress is saved for next time.

think of it as a save game app rather than a server which makes it less scary!

I might have missed a step or two but it really isn't hard to do for most people.

but if your PC is poorly set up/full of jam/attacked by wasps etc it might take a bit more fiddling.
