Everything on the Battle eye page i tried, deleted the BE folder and verified then restarted BE reinstalls and gives the same message, turned off windows firewall completely still didnt work.
The BE page has this on its FAQ section.......................
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
When launching the game I get a "Failed to install BattlEye Service." / "Failed to start BattlEye Service." error. How can I solve this?
Something on your system prevents the installation/startup of the BE Service, which is required to play on BE-enabled servers.
.........................................................
Please ensure that any security software (anti-virus, etc.) running on your system doesn't block the BE Service (both BEService.exe/BEService_x64.exe in your game's "BattlEye" directory as well as BEService.exe in the BE Service directory
............................................................
, which is usually "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\BattlEye") in any way. You might have to add it to your security software's exception list. If that doesn't help or you don't use any sort of security software there might be a permission issue with your BE Service directory or the files within it. To solve this delete the BE Service directory (usually "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\BattlEye") and then try to launch your game again. If you still get the same error at this point please try to manually set the BE Launcher (for ArmA 2: Operation Arrowhead: "ArmA2OA_BE.exe" in your game directory) to run with administrative privileges (normally this should happen automatically). To do so right-click on the BE Launcher executable, choose "Properties", go to the "Compatibility" tab, check the "Run this program as an administrator" option and click OK to apply your changes.
I tried all that, the 1 thing i CANT seem to find is anywhere in windoes 8.1 that allows me to allow certain .exe's. The middle paragraph above lists 2 .exe's i need to allow................i cant find where TO allow them.
Theres a list of programs allowed abd it has 4 seperate " DayZ " 's but nothing listed for BE, if i could somehow edit that list i might get it working but i cant figure out how...............
Allowing .exe's in Windows itself usually just refers to the Windows Firewall. Check to be sure everything is allowed with your inbound and outbound rules under the advanced firewall settings.....PC's have a habit of changing their mind about things after update lol
Thats kind of the issue, in Wiondows defender theres no list of whats allowed or not allowed ( that ive found ) That list in under " Windows firewall " from the control panel. Under the tab " allow apps to communicate through windows firewall it has a list of all programs allowed...............
In that list it has 3 seperate " DayZ " ( thats all it says just " Dayz ) one after the other like this
Crysis 2 maximun eddition
DayZ
DayZ
DatZ
Eador,Masters of the broken universe
So it alphabetical up in the beggining where the " B " for Battle eye is has
Arma 3
Arma 3
Banished ( didnt know i owned that )
Checkpoint.VPN
Chivalry: Medevil Warfare
No Battle eye and from the Battle Eye website im supposed to allow 2 battle eye .exes through
When i click " change settings on the " allow apps to communicate through windows firewall " it allows me to change settings on those programs only.
I need to add programs into that list somehow, i think it has something to do with adding " inbound rules " which is under the " advanced settings " of the windows firewall box but....
Ok having some1 to " talk" to about this got me calmed down ond focused, i added the 2 BE exe's to the inbound rules and the outbound rules, i couldnt find a button to " save " so i just cloesd the ist, when i reopeden it the 2 BE exe;s we in the list both inport and export, let me restart the computer and see if thats how i save then new rules, will update you ( since no1 else besides Blaze has tried to help : ))
Nope, didnt work.
Both the BE exe's are in the list of allowed programs. I checkd both to " run as admin ".
I still get the same message. Even after i turned off windows firewall completely it still doesnt work. I appreciate your help, Amy says your an alright guy but we've never really had any contact since i havent had any good reason to play DayZ till .53.
Its funny, when the game worked i couldnt force myelf to play it ( over 800 hours already ) not that i " cant " play it.................... im busting everyones balls " To " play it lol
Ill keep trying but im hopin BE will do something but since im in the minority here of ppl that cant play im thinkin the issue HAS to be on my end, user error no doubt : ))
Now after adding new rules i can get the game to ................. try to start................... i click " play game " and a lil bix pops up that says " starting dayz " then i get the message " do you want to allow blah bl; ah blah " of course i push " accept or yes or yes please or whatever posotive responce there is " anddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd the box that says " starting dayz " comes back.....................again.................you'd think that would be a good thing..............
It does it on a never ending loop, starting dayz, do you allow, starting dayz,do you allow ?
over and over and over again..............restored the puter to an earlier date, validated, reinstalled, allowed thru firewall, made new rules TO allow thru firewall, running everything includeing my microwave as " admin "
reinstalled at least 5 times, beta,stable.................... im out of ideas tbh
You cant " delete " and start over more than i have.................. i know its on my end but my knowledge of puter files and what looks right and what might be blatantly wrong right in front of my face has reached its limits................
so thanks Blaze and Weather but its not lookin good :p Maybe once .53 goes stable the new BE system will be a lil different, i wasnt the only person to have this issue but if it presists once it goes stable ( and i should ) im sure BE will tweak something to make it install a lil smoother. A few more days wont kill me i havent played DayZ in like 3 months anyway lol
Thanks again both of you : )))
Ive turned the firewall completely off and still no luck, thanks for the sudjestion though, im open to anything that might help
It seems i was trying to " run steam as admin " from everywhere but the icon on the screen that has all the other icons for programs.
I tried from every file on the puter, start>puter> windowsx86 steam steam apps steamapps common the actual dayzBE exe the dayz.exe and every other .exe i could find.
So i reinstalled steam and the icon on the toolbar thingy on the bottom didnt look right ( it was a white box like a file " so i deleted that and found the actual icon on the desktop tuckd wayyyyyyyyyyyyy up in the corner, right clicked that and saw " run as admin "
huh ? thats wierd, wtf it couldnt hurt.................... it works on stable lol. Now im so scared to d/l exp that ill mess it up again :p
Thanks Weather and Blaze, you said all the right things i was just my DA self and didnt " hear" cuz i was so sure i could fix it..................From the desktop icon !!!! Some1 should sticky that for other nublets like me lol
