DayZ
Bomb Suit
I think dayz would be a nice enviroment for an EOD suit.

Spawning

The eod suit would come in pieces. A head piece, a body piece, gloves, leggings, and boots.
It would only spawn at helicopter crash sights in no more than 3 pieces. It would have a 2.5% chance of spawning at helicopter crash sights.

Resistance against firearms

A full EOD suit could be able to withstand 2 mags of continuous m4 fire, a mag of akm/ ak74 fire, and 3 mags of mosin fire, and 3 mags of sks fire before the suit is ruined and offers very little protection. The suit would be immune to small arms fire, unless a few headshots are scored.

Movement

When wearing a full EOD suit you would only be able to walk, or have a very light jog. You would not be able to move to the left or right while jogging.

Upgrades

You could attach a piece of cast iron plating to the front, and backs of the suit making it more resistant to assault rifle/ battle rifle fire, And completely immune to small arms fire. You could take apart a vest and sew it on to the front of the suit, addind storage, but sacrificing the iron plating.

That's not how an EOD works.

It'll stop pistol rounds since it contains lots of Kevlar, but most sort of rifle rounds will penetrate with ease.

EOD suits are built to protect against shrapnel and a blast force from an explosion. Even then it's not much, you'll still die standing next to an explosion.

Edit: pretty sure thats the Jugg suit from call of duty (the us one)

yeah eod suits aren't extremely useful yeah they block some explosion damage irl if your far enough away and don't get me wrong this is a great idea really but maybe not as op sounding as you dicribe it to be.
But if the game was absolutely realistic about these, zombies couldnt even scratch you so it would be a little boring

They could drag you down and bury you under their own weight. If they never broke through the suit, you'd die from suffocation or dehydration. D:
ITS A ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ BULLDOZER
Like many people said, an EOD suit, or Explosive Ordnance Disposal suit, is not made for stopping small arms fire and is actually pretty impractical. To quote wikipedia:

"To effectively stop a blast wave, thick layers of Kevlar, foam and plastic are needed to prevent serious bodily harm. Since the entire body needs protection, the resulting bomb suit can be heavy (up to 37 kg or more), hot to the point of causing heat stress, and difficult to move in. Therefore, often one individual will put on a suit to approach a device for defusing after it has been identified. The weight of the suit is often a tradeoff with the amount of protection it can provide. A range of bomb suits are thus available so that agencies can choose the needed protection without unnecessary weight when possible. A minimal suit consists of a jacket, apron and helmet that weigh as little as 5 kg. These are listed as being suitable for demining activities but not EOD.

The materials needed to make bomb suits protective do not release body heat generated by the wearer. The result can be heat stress, which can lead to illness and disorientation, reducing the wearer’s ability to accomplish the task. The most recent models of bomb suits include battery operated cooling systems to prevent heat stress. One manufacturer’s study claims that the internal cooling systems on 18 kg and 37 kg bomb suits helped the wearer stay at workable temperatures for up to an hour, even in a hot environment."

As you can see, the suit weights a lot, is difficult to move in & overheats the wearer quite quickly. The cooling system, which is battery powered, only allows for workable temperatures for 1 hour. Indeed, zombies can't get to you, but you would be unable to run away and probably die in a few hours after being taken down.

But what bugs me the most is that while the suit is impractical, it also has no use for the military in a zombie outbreak, henche it would be very unlikely to be found. Zombies can't plant bombs my friend. A riot suit would be way more plausible, as it could have been used to both protect against zombies and to hold off the distressed civilians while the outbreak was starting.
