Why does the moon go down during the night?
Something I noticed during the night in this game (because thats the only time during the game I'm able to play and I dont feel like getting robbed 5 times on a 24/7 daytime server populated by 30 people) is that there is only a small portion of time when the moon is in the sky giving light, which is approx. 12:00-3:00 A.M. Why does it go down? I'm not an astronomer, but I don't think that the moon says "Hey guys whatsup." for a few hours then immediatly leaves saying it has to be somewhere, obviously lying. No, the moon is the life of the party, he's the guy that you're trying to wake and get to leave right as you hear the keys of the sun opening the door to the house.

Even if there was some new rule made to the laws of the universe and now the moon chills for a bit then goes back down for a powernap, can we please just have it stay all night?

What you have to understand is nightime servers aren't really that bad (besides for the scary darkness) so long as the moon is out, that's what we can use as light to get around, but without that, we can only use flashlights, which take up our hand spaces so if say you see someone and are tired of being robbed for the 5th time today, or a zombie wants to take a bite out of you, you're going to have a really fun time putting the flashlight away and pulling out a weapon, then spending the next 10 minutes trying to find them, only to find they combat logged the second they saw you pull out an M4A1, and realized ♥♥♥♥ just got real.

And I know that there are headlamps, but those are troublesome. I haven't really used them because I didn't want to have to take off my badass combat helmet, but once when I tried to use one it was buggy and didn't work, and you can still easily be seen by the light. Bottom line is, Why does the moon go back down, and can we have it so it doesn't? Thx!

Once thing that helps is that you can hotkey the flashlight as well as weapons to the number keys. So have your flashlight on 1 and a weapon on 2, then just tap 2 and your character will auto switch to the weapon. Peace! :tgrin:

in real life the moon isn't there all night. This thing with the moon going down is due to 'keeping it realistic' so to speak.

The moon rises and sets, just like the sun.

I know that the moon does have a rise and set cycle just like the sun, but I find it a bit odd that it goes down SO early. Even if it really does work that way in real life, can we just remember for 5 minutes that this is a game, and not EVERYTHING has to be ralistic down to the point? Maybe we could just keep it up for a bit longer, at least until theres only a little bit until the sun comes back up to light things.

That's what she......

I'm so so sorry....

I'm pretty sure the light levels at night are something the devs will be looking at. The list of things is quite long at the moment though.

Sometimes the moon is also 'up' during the day. I assume (without much thought on the matter) that this would mean it's time up in the night would then be limited, if it's there at all.
What about moon cycles? When it's a new (black) moon it would just appear to be not there and would not cast much light. It wouldn't be up and full every night.
