IN THIS TIME OF THE APOCOLYPSE SIR. We have Rusty guns and bullets (and old as hell guns) And we are using things like it. HENSE juggernaut armor. Which was thought of Because Guess what? DING DING DING Knight armor and Spartan armor hell.. even swat teams are using such things... and half of the people shooting them cant hit something 10 meters away from them.
Same goes for bomb suits
Typical plate steel armor might stop a .22 at medium range. MAYBE... it might also stop Hollow Point rounds at medium range. But you're sacrificing speed and what not carrying heavy ass metal armor when it would be smarter to grab a Kevlar vest and a Ballistics helmet.. the latter not in yet, and the former maybe sving you from an outright headshot, assuming you wake up before you bleed out.
The age of a gun does not = effectiveness. a Colt Single Action Army, a revolver that was widely used in 1875 onwards would still wreck your shiny armor.
though i have been wating to get a sword in game for a long time... katana preferably.
I can't totally roleplay as Gordon freeman until I have a crowbar
