ok i accept your point of view, when you focus on something do you get 3x power optics though ? IRL
Its not the function of the button, its what the function is supposed to emulate is where i have my issue : )
They should disable the zoom function. It's also necessary to disable/reduce the FOV-Setting, because it's unrealistic and a kind of cheating to change the FoV to get a better zoom or a larger view field.
Well if you are focusing on something, you tend to pick up more detail on an object even if it is at a distance. A game cannot really emulate the capability of the human eye - hence where the issue lies. They could probably nerf the zoom so it wasn't so far, but even then that would probably do more harm than good - and you would probably get tons of people complaining. Perhaps if the zoom feature was more of a focus, like you would be able to zoom maybe 1.5x whatever it is you are looking at, however everything around that particular element blurs.
The best way to solve a number of these issues is if the controls to the game were specifically coded so that everyone had the same general play experience. (Aside from general controls like accessing menus ect.). Graphical settings should be fixed.
Im talking about HC only..........to try and get it as close to " real" as possible : )
The thing is that when playing on certain resolution (for example 1366 x 768) the objects that are 100m away appear as pixels and it is hard to understand what you see. In real life I can see if an object 100m away is a human or a trash bin. The zooming just gives you more lifelike resolution.
Imagine that the mouse button zoom is your natural viewing focus, the way how you are supposed to see things. But the unzoomed version is like your focused and peripheral vision combined.
