Sawed off Mosin no Scope?
Seriusly ? You are only removing the barrel, nothing necesarry for attaching the scope, and dont tell me thats for balance, The Game is supposed to be Realistic.

"The Sawed-off Mosin 9130 is a sawed-off version of the Mosin 9130, appearing in DayZ Standalone. As the name implies, the Sawed-Off Mosin 9130 is considerably shorter than the standard Mosin 9130, having a large portion of the barrel and stock cut off. Because of this, the rifle has a much lower profile, and can be stored inside backpacks and other storage containers with at least four slots, or on the user's back. However, this comes at the cost of an incredibly reduced effective range and much higher recoil."

Even if you could attach a scope you wouldn't hit anything. The effective range drop off makes the sawed off mosin ineffective for long range anyways. You also remove part of the stock to so your wrong about only removing the barrel. This game is realistic, you would not be able to snipe efficiently with a sawed off scoped mosin in real life. Especially with a partial stock, and shortened barrel. That's just common gun knowledge. Long story short, if you wan't to snipe with the Mosin, don't saw off what makes the Mosin an actual sniper.

Hope that clears things up.

Cheers

As far as I remember right... You saw part of Mosin where Optics a partially attached (about 1/6-1/7 of Optic rail).

Real Mosins use the side-mounted rail for optics, like AKs do. The upper and lower handguards don't mount anything.

I love these guys that don't know what the hell they are talking about...first the mosin actually takes 7.62X54R ammo, second the effective range of that rifle with a 16" barrel is still 500+ yrds...so yes we should be able mount a scope on it AND sawing off the barrel and stock would NOT effect the ability to mount a scope. I own several 16" sniper rifles and own a Thompson Contender ( what the Longhorn is modeled after) and they are all extremely accurate.

The shortened Mosin doesn't have a 16" barrel, though. It's closer to 6-8".

The sawed off mosin can still hit at about 500m, Your main enemy with it, is the player sway, And i agree, We should be able to at least use the PU scope, Since the sites are gone.
