Can't craft fence kit anymore

So I made a fence kit and placed it but never finished building it due to not having a shovel. When I came back I didn't see the kit ( left the logs laying on top of it for a marker). The logs were there but the kit wasn't. I picked up the logs and tried to attach them but no prompt. Now I can't craft a fence kit and they're not showing up in at the traders. Is this a bug? Am I only allowed one fence kit?

sounds like a mod/trader or server issue/setting. u can craft as many kits u want on vanilla.
maybe ask on workshop mod page or the servers discord.

I just read that fence kits have been taken out? Surely not. They are perhaps the most important element in base building.
