I've got my fingers crossed. About the only semi-automated way I can think of is to make a types.xml with loot parameters set to a zero lifetime, zero nominal quantity and a very high restock timer. I'd then log in and see what's happened. In particular, since we all have flags up, what would happen to things not in actual containers like generators?
Some older reddits were debating why items marked as "tools" didn't always show a flag icon.
After checking out the status of loot around the map locations where we'd seen some weirdness I'd trade out this edited file for the 'real' types.xml and restart the server with global.xml RestartSpawn set to 100%
In spite of what I just wrote there are other considerations that make a "just do it" decision inappropriate. It's almost funny how many of the experts in DayZ forums have thrown in their facts and then be 'corrected' by other experts.
Rest assured that I'll post my conclusions and results if I get a viable path toward this server 'repair'.
