Food and water bottles (unless they are empty) can become infected when used.
Example: You have salmonella, cholera or flu and eat half a roast.
Now you fight the disease and after a few minutes you eat from that roast again - you get sick again.
Maybe also possible:
You have flu and drink all water and fight the disease with vitamin pills. Your stomach is full of "contaminated" water and the up arrows of your water status icon are still there when your vitamin pill icon disappears. (I've been wanting to check if that's true for months ^^ but haven't checked for so long.)
However, there was also a bug that made you sick again after a cure, but I think that was limited to flu. ( i think i heard from that bug at 1.23 or so )
Its always best to empty all water-bottle, and throw away open food after a flu, salmonella and cholera.

Thanks for a tip, worth testing, will reply on results later!
About reusing contaminated water containers and contamination fact itself after using while infected - is it official, like official change after some specific update, or individual conclusion based on experience and observation?
I mean sounds logical, but if interpretation of survival goes this deep, it seems reaching towards those overkill mods, when you "cut yourself with poison ivy just passing birch tree without head/face cover" - i am exaggerating of course, but still...
Anyways - I Will look onto that, as sometimes seems illogical sudden illnesses on official servers when all must-have precautions were fulfilled, especially in my case.

You can eat raw wolf meat if you eat a vitamin beforehand.
You get more energy from cooked wolf meat though.
I got stranded at the bunker, red food.
Logged back in later and wolves came, killed them, ate some raw meat after a vitamin pill, was fine. Eventually cooked the wolf meat, and always made sure the pill icon was displayed.
I did get ill and puked once, but had enough pills.
Got my health back up from red.
Transmission of salmonella, cholera and flu via bottles/food should be correct on official servers.

It is still unclear to me whether a full stomach with infected meat or something similar can make you sick again. This may or may not be true depending on whether the illness is caused by digestion or consumption.
With the flu, it is at least very unlikely because you are immune for 10 minutes after recovery. In addition, 2200/5000 water and energy are enough for immunity (with full HP & blood).

When you take meds or vitamins as a preventative measure (drinking dirty water or eating contaminated food) and the up arrows outlast the pill icon you'll get sick, unless you pop another pill.
Edit: I'm wrong, they changed this two years ago apparently and people are often mistaken as a result.
