Buried stuff despawn timer

How long does buried stuff (e.g. the yellow protective case) persist before despawning?

And if anyone knows, what else can you bury besides protective cases and wooden boxes?

Any buried container will last for 14 days. Other suitable containers are the sea chest (100 slots), waterproof backpacks (64 slots, my easy to find favourite), fur courier bag and fur backpack (30/42 slots), drysack (20 slots), cooking pot (12 slots), first aid pouch (9 slots) and teddy baer (6 slots). There might be others i'm not aware of.
