Neither. Making a quality map for DayZ or Arma is both massively time consuming and technically difficult. It's his own private project and will be released as a community mod.
thats very nice and honorable and all, and lets put aside the fact that the map will be a remake that will heavly draw on existing objects/statics or rushed up verions of those, its not a new map and its not an official one, hence the OP "New Official Map for DayZ".
I think the right thing would be to make an official new map, entirely from scratch with all new setting and stuff. (that would also give community mappers something else to build on than the gazzilionst chernarus variation or iteration of OFP/A1/A2 maps and objects )
i say all this in respect to the fact that they sold serval million copys of dayz sa...
either that or i simply made a reasonable inquiry, but hey cmon, 3+ million copys sold, 5 years of early access... A SECOND MAP?=!===!? that must be trolling...
