^ I posted a reply to this thread, see if this helps your situation.
I did a fresh install of Win 7 Ultimate x64 then only downloaded my network drivers (do this first if you do not have another machine), Chrome, Stock video card drivers (comes with .net framework 4), Steam and DayZ. Now I am running with no problem.
There are entirely to many steps involved, just google/youtube how to do a fresh install of windows and go to the site for your motherboard to download the drivers for you network adapter and the site for your graphics card and download the drivers for that. If you don't know what kind of MB or graphics card google how to do a dxdiag
Hold ALT and ENTER simultaneously.
Win 8.1 FResh install as this is a custom build)
I7 processor (liquid cooled)
EVGA GTX 750ti (new drivers)
16gig vengance ram
257 gig ssd boot drive
3tb Hdd (game is stored here)
Majority of build is Corsair and ASUS and all brand new,
Things I have done....
Fresh install of Steam and DayZ app.
Updated all drivers
run as admin, compat. mode, reduced graphics, installed and ran DayzCommander
added .dll files as recommended else where in this forum
Dayz Mod runs fine as does ARMA II & Op. Arrowhead
My game boots to adjusting res frame, then minimizes to task bar. Click on icon, nothing. Right click icon to close, nothing. I have to three finger windows salute to close application.
Reboot system, but to no avail.
Any workable solutions out there. I know it is a program issue as all my hardware exceeds the min. req.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

UPDATE!!!!
So I did a fresh install of all of my programs, Steam, Arma's, and DayZ, rebott system. run in compatibility and admin, and it still doesn't work. Now my DayZ mod works fine, but the "standalone" seems like it isn't standing alone anymore, just lying there in my pc doing nothing. Bad investment evidently.
Uninstalled ALL games (Arma II, OA,Dayz,Steam)
Reinstalled Arma II and Arma OA to my boot drive which happens to be a 257gig ssd
Ran Arma II once
Ran Arma OA once
Installed DayZ to boot drive
Installed DayZ Commander, no mods installed yet
Opened GeForce Experience panel
Updated my GPU drivers to version 347.09 WHQL (EVGA GeForce 750ti)
Found games in the games tab
Optimized both Arma II, then DayZ
Ran DayZ standalone through the Experience panel, ran successfully
Closed Experience panel
Ran DayZ through desktop, (not Steam), successful.
I have yet to install any mods, so this might change things, but I am hoping not.
