"Waiting for host"... forever

Everytime I'm trying to join a server, it just says "waiting for host" in the first screen. I won't join the server and have to quit via escape button. I can maybe join 1 out of 20 servers, how to fix it?

some server will be like that, not all of them, Ive seen some where I was stuck on waiting for host

If you "wait for host" too long, you may be wiping your own character... beware.

Good tip if I could have joined a server to actually have a character, what hasn't happened so far...

Try this: Steam library, right click on DayZ, go to properties, then go to the local files tab and click "Verify Integrity of Game Cache"

Try joining servers by a different hosting company. I had that trouble trying to join Gamingdeluxe servers.
So i joined a Multiplay server and got in...i then logged and and joined Gamingdeluxe with no problem. I think it has somethin to do with trying to join servers afer they've just reset, though i'm not too sure.

I tried to join like 25 servers, all different hosters. I now deinstalled the game, I'm sick of it...

Wait for another build and try again.

Remember you're testing an in development build that is not designed to be funny but to test and gather data for the devs.

DayZ is meant to break and break and fix a little to make the build playable to then break again and reapeating that cycle til Beta.

Some builds are nasty while some are nicer :)

I find, the servers with 0-1 players on them will almost always give you the Wait for Host message. Try joining servers no less than 4 players.

Or be a boss and play on Full servers :P

(play on lower servers if you are learning the game)

Im getting this problem too and i'm missing most of my stuff. Getting DDOSed again?

If you get please wait after the spawn timer, you usually get stuck in the wait screen for 60 more sec`s. I have timed this several times, seems to be consistent. It`s like a double spawn time for some reason.

People always jump to conclusions too much with this game, you are waiting for host too long due to the server BEING DOWN .. the server is not up yet you'll have to disconnect from it and count to 10 after the server is on your list again and re-join.

Ok I am getting this problem now and so is my brother (lives in a different house so not a local connection issue). We just cannot connect to any hosts.

I played last night with no problems. So I have no idea wtf is going on. I havew tried to verify cache, restart steam and the computer.... no change. Anyone else getting an issue?

I have tried joining all the different variations of servers too and nothing works... I have no idea wtf has changed since I turned my computer off last night and just going into game now....
