Dayz Standalone: Failed to install Battleye Service
What's up guys.
It's been a while since I've played Dayz SA. I decided to get back online this week but got a little disapointed.

After the latest update (0.51.125720) everytime I try to run the game, it asks me to accept the Battleye EULA. When I hit "Yes" and choose to start it as administrator, the prompt returns the following error:
"Installing Battleye Service...
Failed to start Battleye Service."

Here's what I've tried so far:

- Checked files integrity within Steam;
- Downloaded the Battleye Service .dll from Battleye.com (Dayz standalone specific file) and overrided the older one in /Steam/steampps/common/DayZ/Battleye folder;
- Restarted my PC and tried to run steam as Administrator;
- Deleted every Battleye related stuff from my computer;
- Completely removed Dayz from my computer, re-downloaded it, but still got the same problem afterall.

Is there any idea on how to fix it? Anyone got the same issue?

Hope someone helps me :)

My sys specs
Windows xp Professional x64;
4GB RAM;
Geforce GT640 (2 GB);
Phenom II x 4 - 820.

PS: Still using XP due to some imcompatibility with my GPU vs MOBO (It doesn't recognize my GPU on win7, 8 or vista)

I have the same problem, no freaking clue whats up. I have Win7 4670k gtx660. I am considering reinstalling windows. That might do the job

Same here. I tried everything except reinstall win8, that's only solution. But I found that some files missing in my dayz folder (BEservice.dll, BEservice_x64) when i reinstalled Dayz. Friends of mine, they have these files in there. I can't find any download for this except http://battleye.com/download.html.
I tried those files for Arma2OA because there isn't for DayzSA. It'll launch your game but after joining server it will crash and than black bar'll show up with "Updating BEservice" and than your game'll launch again but it'll happen again. So i'm gonna reinstall windows.
Sorry for my english by the way :))

Really? Can you tell us how you did to fix it?

1.Well you first have to have an admin user account(I had a regular account before)
2. I uninstalled steam and then installed DayZ

and thats it which solved it for me

Thanks for sharing mate! Well... I've just made a fresh install of windows (hope it works).
If my fresh install doesn't help, I`ll give it a try (as admin).

I'll post here my results.

Sure, I got it. But my hopes are down now, since I have a fresh windows installation, running steam as Administrator and STILL got the same problem... So, it wasn't my windows before. I think it has something to do with file/directory permissions... But I can't handle much on windows permissions.

Just opened an issue on Bohemia Interactive session for Dayz (hope they help me) and I'm heading to Battleye support, contact them about my/our problem.

I'll let you guys know if I find any solution!

Hello everyone.

After a long research and several (frustrated) attempts on how to solve this issue, I contacted the battleye support team (support@battleye.com) and they helped me a lot!

Here's the thing you need to do (worked on windows xp):

When you try to launch the game and battleye asks you to read and accept the EULA, it will try to run battleye service installation as Administrator. Now, here's the trick: Instead of selecting the Administrator user, you must select "Current user (YOUR_USERNAME)" and uncheck the box below this option. Like the image[i1193.photobucket.com]

Anyway... Hope this post helps someone else.

Regards

Solidus when i start DayZ there is not a box where i can uncheck that box option. When i run the game it ask me if i wanna install Battleye, and then i click 'yes' and it writes: Failed to install Battleye service. And im back to square one. I have print screen the problem but i cant seem to find where the damn pictures are ^^

I found a fix, it might be Windows 7 only, not 100% sure but if you are missing BEService_64, and uninstall tools, your DayZ will have the Failed to Install error. Message me if you are up for a shot.

I found a fix for this, and I think it is BY FAR the easiest way to fix this. at least it worked for me.

I went to the game files, that is in Steam\SteamApps\common\DayZ.
then I found a file called DAYZ_BE.exe.
All I did to fix it was right click it, and select "Run as administrator"
and done!
Reply if this worked for you!
