Crashing when joining a server [FIXED]

I've had a problem with the game crashing when I'm joining a server. As soon as I try to connect, it gives me the Please Wait screen and then it stops working.

I know a lot of other people have this problem, so I figured I'd post a fix for it here.

First off, you need to back up a folder named DayZ. This folder is located in "C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\"

The easiest way to get to this folder, is to open a random folder, and type %localappdata% in the address bar.

Then backup your DayZ folder and delete the old one.

After this, you can now launch DayZ and try to connect to servers again.

A 3 year old fix to a 3 year old problem didn't fix an issue after several patches 3 years later.

Recently i got similar issues. Approx. 75% i try to start DayZ it manages to go as far as the black screen with the grey DayZ logo (just before the early access warning) and then simply vanishes. No error message nothing. Sometimes i have to try up to 3 or 4 times until i finally reach the main menu (strangely, no character is shown there).
Now, ususally, once the game finally manages to start it runs fine. But occasionally (just now, to be precise) it will freeze completely during play, forcing me to shut it down via taskkill command.
When i restart the game (when it finally starts, that is, eg. after trying several times because it seems to crash right at the logo) i relog onto last server only to be constantly kicked off with "session lost".
