Foliage Smoothing looks really bad since update..

Anyone else having an issue with their graphics not looking right since the update? For me it seems to be with the Foliage Smoothing. Prior to the update I always had this on and it looked good. Now, when it's turned on it makes the grass have this weird "pattern" visible over it. Almost like a striped texture to the grass. I don't know quite how to explain it. But something is definitely not right.

If I turn the Foliage Smoothing off it lessens the striping but the grass still doesn't look right. No matter what I try the grass just looks really grainy and low rez. I mean, I know it is kind of low rez, but it look so much worse than it did prior. It actually looked decent before. Now it's so distracting. And if i happen to be somewhere in-game where I'm looking at grass through a chainlink fence from a distance, the effect looks really bad. Like i'm looking at things through a screen door or something.


I'm using an RTX 3060 ti, Ryzen 5 5600x, 32GB RAM, and Corsair MP600 NVMe

I just turned off the Foliage Smoothing. And I think the issue was eventually fixed. I don't remember, entirely. But turning off the Foliage Smoothing, at least, got rid of the weird lines.

I haven't played at all since this most recent update. Did the issue come back with the new update?

Yeah I'm not sure the issue ever left. I've been finding post about it going back years. Most the people were saying its an AMD issue but you had the issue even on an Nvidia card so idk. I have an AMD card and I get the "weird lines". The only fix I've found is turning off foliage smoothing like you said. But the game looks so ugly with that setting turned off.

Yeah, I'm not sure what the cause is. It started for me after a particular update. And then I just turned off Foliage Smoothing. And the game now looks like it used to for me.

It seemed like the setting just got reversed, or something. When I turned it off it went back to looking normal again. That, or I just got used to looking at it,

I don't know. But the game looks good to me. But the next time I play I'll toggle the setting and see if I still get that issue.
